MEET THE BAND
Voyage For Knowledge grew out of a long-standing collaboration between singer/guitarist Yannick and drummer Anthony. Two multi-instrumentalists who set out together to find a third member – preferably a bassist – who liked to colour outside the musical lines.
Over the years, many ‘thick-stringed’ musicians have come and gone, and the band has renamed itself ‘Voyage For Knowledge’.
After recording VFK's debut album in January 2023, they teamed up with Bert, and he quickly made himself indispensable as a bassist and all-round likeable chap...
Since the summer of 2023, this trio has been eagerly and ambitiously searching for a platform to share their unique sound, a supernova of colourful music that goes beyond the boundaries of the world.
MEET YANNICK
Ever since he was a little boy, Yannick has been a storyteller. He's been writing prose, poetry and lyrics since he was 12 years old and his parents bought him a keyboard, which he soon traded for a guitar.
This really got him into the wonderful world of songwriting.
He sang and played guitar in quite a few bands, but always felt like he couldn't fully express himself there.
So at the age of 29 Yannick started his own band ("The Again",
a name now used to indicate his solo project), which evolved into VFK.
Writing whithout rules still remains his main method of artistic expression. Fun fact: Yannick plays lefthanded on righthanded guitars, with the big E-string down low and the thin e way up high!
MEET ANTHONY
Anthony started playing the drums at the age of 15.
He was immediately hooked and began practising like a man possessed.
Within just one year, Anthony started playing with another musician, Gunther DN, who now happens to be one of the band's roadies and a fixture in his life.
The day after his 18th birthday, he gave his first live performance with Gunther for a bike club, and that was a feeling he would continue to pursue, live on that stage.
He has started several projects himself, including a few with bassist Bert, toured with another rock band from Aalst for six years, and then decided to leave that band to fully express his creativity with Voyage For Knowledge, where each member can just write what they feel, without boundaries.
